Nations to Come against Israel
The Bible says that all nations will come against Israel:
For behold, in those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My land. Joel 3:1-2 (emphasis added)
This passage, written thousands of years ago, reads like today’s news. It is all taking place in our lifetime. We see world leaders conspiring together against Israel (Ps 2). Many nations are putting up their hands to give away the land that God gave to Israel as an eternal inheritance. We read in Scripture about the spirit of Edom/Esau rising up.
Because you have said, ‘These two nations and these two lands will be mine, and we will possess them,’ although the LORD was there. “Therefore as I live,” declares the Lord GOD, “I will deal with you according to your anger and according to your envy which you showed because of your hatred against them; so I will make Myself known among them when I judge you. Then you will know that I, the LORD, have heard all your revilings which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel saying, ‘They are laid desolate; they are given to us for food.’ And you have spoken arrogantly against Me and have multiplied your words against Me; I have heard it.” Thus says the Lord GOD, “As all the earth rejoices, I will make you a desolation. As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel because it was desolate, so I will do to you. You will be a desolation, O Mount Seir, and all Edom, all of it. Then they will know that I am the LORD.”’ Ezekiel 35:10-15 (emphasis added)
And you, son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel and say, ‘O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD.’ Thus says the Lord GOD, “Because the enemy has spoken against you, ‘Aha!’ and, ‘The everlasting heights have become our possession.’ Therefore prophesy and say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “For good reason they have made you desolate and crushed you from every side, that you would become a possession of the rest of the nations and you have been taken up in the talk and the whispering of the people.”’ Therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD. Thus says the Lord GOD to the mountains and to the hills, to the ravines and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes and to the forsaken cities which have become a prey and a derision to the rest of the nations which are round about, therefore thus says the Lord GOD, “Surely in the fire of My jealousy I have spoken against the rest of the nations, and against all Edom, who appropriated My land for themselves as a possession with wholehearted joy and with scorn of soul, to drive it out for a prey.” Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel and say to the mountains and to the hills, to the ravines and to the valleys, “Thus says the Lord GOD, ‘Behold, I have spoken in My jealousy and in My wrath because you have endured the insults of the nations.’ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, ‘I have sworn that surely the nations which are around you will themselves endure their insults. But you, O mountains of Israel, you will put forth your branches and bear your fruit for My people Israel; for they will soon come.’ Ezekiel 36:1-8 (emphasis added)
This again is amazingly accurate with what is happening on the world scene today. God is judging the nations for scattering His people, dividing up His land, and the Arab nations (with the approval of most of the world) for appropriating His land for themselves. God caused the prophets to record this for us and now it is coming to pass. It is God Himself who steps in to judge these nations for their actions. Did you notice that the insults that the nations threw at Israel will backfire on themselves? They will be the ones to become desolate. It is never wise to go against God’s plans. You are guaranteed never to win.
However, within these parameters, in Matthew 25, the Scriptures speak of sheep nations and goat nations. See article – Judgement of Nations. We need to pray that our ANZAC nations will stand with Israel and be counted as sheep nations.
Satan will not Give in
Behold, I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that causes reeling to all the peoples around; and when the siege is against Jerusalem, it will also be against Judah. It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it. Zechariah 12:2-3 (emphasis added)
Jerusalem is the spiritual capital of the world and every satanic spirit, and the religions and sects that they rule over, all want to capture it. The current global battle for Jerusalem is not about land. It is about who will rule from Temple Mount. It does not matter how much land the Jews give back, ‘land for peace’ will only serve to whet the appetite of those who want to see the Jews cast into the sea. The spirit of appeasement will not work either. As Winston Churchill is quoted as saying:
An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last.1
The current global battle for Jerusalem is not about land. It is about who will rule from Temple Mount
The only answer is the gospel of peace that changes hearts and minds and introduces people to the Prince of Peace.
Jerusalem has indeed become the ‘cup of reeling’ to the nations. It will be against this rock they will be broken. Satan’s time is short and he will not give up land or power. The spiritual Anzac army needs to mount their horses and follow the one on His white horse.
And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses. From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, ‘KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.’ Revelation 19:11-16
His name is the Word of God and His Word will prevail.
